From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
